Privacy Policy
Socialz ("we", "us", or "our") is a hosted, multi-user service for clipping video and publishing those clips to social media accounts you connect. You use it over the internet; it runs on servers we operate. This Privacy Policy describes what we collect and how we handle it.
01Information We Collect
We collect what is needed to run the service:
- Account details — the email address you register with, and a cryptographic hash of your password. We never store your password itself.
- Connected platform credentials — when you connect a social media account, we receive access and refresh tokens and basic profile information such as your username on that platform. Tokens are encrypted at rest.
- Content you create — the clips you produce, transcripts and captions generated from them, and the titles, descriptions and other metadata you enter.
- Usage records — counts of activity such as clips created and posts attempted, used for quotas and to keep the service running.
- Technical logs — records of requests to the service, including your IP address, the time, and which part of the service was used.
- Error reports — where error reporting is enabled, technical details of a failure are sent to a third-party error-tracking provider to help us diagnose it.
We do not ask for or store payment card details.
02How We Use Information
We use this information to operate the service: to sign you in, to publish content to the accounts you have connected, to generate captions and transcripts for your clips, to apply usage limits, and to diagnose faults and abuse. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
03Data Storage and Retention
Your data is stored on servers we operate, and is kept separate per user: your clips, connected accounts and settings are not visible to other users of the service. Access credentials for connected platforms are encrypted at rest.
We keep the source video only for as long as a clipping run needs it, and delete it as soon as the run finishes. Clips and their transcripts are kept for 90 days from creation and then deleted. Service logs are kept for 90 days. If you close your account or ask us to delete your data, we purge it within 30 days of the request. Our database backups are kept on a rolling 14-day basis, so deleted data also disappears from backups within 14 days of its deletion from the live service.
04Service Providers
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we need in order to operate Socialz, and only for that purpose: Stripe, for payment processing and subscription billing. Stripe receives your email address and the payment details you enter directly with them; we never see or store your full card number. Resend, for sending the transactional emails described in this policy. Resend receives your email address and the contents of those messages. Cloudflare, for DNS, network protection, email routing, and object storage of clip files. Sentry, for error reporting. Sentry may receive technical details of an error, which can include your account identifier. Our hosting provider, which operates the servers where the service runs and where your account data and files are stored. We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect the rights, safety or property of Slizzard Labz LLC, our users, or the public.
05Security
Your password is stored only as a salted scrypt hash, so we cannot read it. Traffic to the service is encrypted in transit. Access to production systems is restricted. No service can promise perfect security and we do not; if we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
06Google and YouTube API Services
Socialz's use of information received from Google APIs, including the YouTube Data API, adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
By connecting a YouTube account you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.
You can review and revoke Socialz's access to your Google account at any time via the Google security settings page. Revoking access stops us from publishing to that account.
07Cookies
Socialz sets one cookie, studio_session, which holds your signed session token and keeps you logged in. It is required for the service to work; without it you cannot stay signed in. It is cleared when you log out. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use third-party analytics or tracking cookies.
08Third-Party Platforms
When distributing content to a third-party platform you have connected, you are subject to that platform's own terms of service and privacy policy.
09Your Choices
You can disconnect any connected account at any time, which removes the stored credentials for it. You can export your data and request deletion of your account from the settings page.
[M: state the rights that apply under GDPR/CCPA and how to exercise them, once the operating entity and jurisdiction are decided.]
10Children's Privacy
Socialz is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account, the service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will delete it and close the account. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact legal@socialz.fun.
11Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. If a change is material, we will give you at least thirty days' notice by email to the address on your account and post the updated policy with a new effective date before it takes effect. Changes that are not material take effect when posted.
